Thanks to the company where I working now, I get to fly to other countries for exhibitions and trainings. Well, although it's all bout work, but it's still allow me to fly around, which I think I am really lucky to have this job. And this is my second trip for the company, to Jakarta.
Since I had a very bad experience for boarding plane, ever since then I told myself to check in at least 2 hours before no matter what. So, my flight to Jakarta was at 9.50am, and I woke up at 5.30 to take train to go LCCT.
It cost RM10.80 to go LCCT, but the train do not go straight to the airport, instead you need to go down at Salak Tinggi Station and transit to their bus to go to the airport. Well, the whole journey does not take more than 35mins, in the train has free WiFi as well!
Flyyy..... Up up here we go!
Arrive in Jakarta.
I did not take any picture in the airport, also our hotel. Should have taken it. Only know how to busy jakun-ing around.
Expected journey to our hotel from airport will take about 30mins plus, but we forgot about Jakarta's famous attraction, massive traffic jam! Instead of 30mins, we took 2 hours to reach our hotel, if you're from KL, trust me, we are no match to them.
After checking in the hotel, immediately we go for lunch. Again, thanks to my jakun-ness, I didn't take picture on the food again. I had a Nasgor Kambing (Mutton Fried Rice), and....... Nothing special. But the entire lunch we paid 77,000!!! In Rupiah... Roughly around RM25, well, we had lots of food.
We met up with my colleague's cousin, and her driver drives us to the convention hall for set up.
And the rainbow telling us that everything will be great! I think.
After setting up, we go to a mall called "STS Mall" something like that, it's right opposite Senanyan City Mall.
Yeap, you have no choice but to stuck in jam, no matter where you go.
Since I demanded to try their local McD special item, they got no choice but to eat McD with me. XD
And I ordered this,
PaNas Spasial (Special Hot)
It's very simple, one piece of fried chicken, scramble egg, a pack of rice (Indonesians can't live without rice, trust me.) and a coke. No fries or anything else. But I can tell you, our Ayam Goreng McD has no match to their fried chicken, it was like seriously good! Must try! And I forgot the price. =p
After makan, we went to Senanyan City Mall. It's like our Gardens Mall, but 3 times bigger, with lots of designers' brand, like Gucci, Ferragamo, and more, it means that the spending power in Indonesia is getting much better in these days. Time for supper, and I've ate the best thing in Jakarta, Bakmi GM!
It's like our wan tan noodle, but seriously taste awesome! I had it 3 days straight! Seriously hope it will come in to Malaysia, it will be my daily meal I guess.
Night scene outside of Senanyan City Mall.
Second round supper, Mee Bakso (Meatball Noodle)
Local beer, Bintang, and I thought it's Heineken.
Our booth in IFRA 2013.
My pass...
Picture above is a place like a food court, but mini sized. It has many types of local street food, cheap street food. I had only indomie since it's morning. But 1 thing there amazed me, different stall has different owner, but they do not mind sharing tables or chairs or even business, they will help you to order things from another stalls, and they do not earn any from it, even though you are sitting his or her seats, but you can ask them to order things from other stall, with pleasure. I was really amazed on their culture among themselves.
Jakarta Famous Attraction.
Random shot.
Got not much to say during 3 days of exhibition, but we met these 2 local ladies, and they were nice enough to brought us around and intro us about Jakarta, at the same time teach me Bahasa. =p Really thankful on their hospitality and time as well.
Meal before check out, Mie Ayam (Chicken Noodle).
We've been told to leave hotel as soon as possible to brace through Jakarta Massive Jam, so our flight is at 4.35pm, we left our place at 12.30pm and prepared to sleep in the taxi. And surprisingly, there was no jam at all, and it only took us less than 30 mins to reach airport. Seriously, assumption kills sometimes.
Since we reached there so early, we had our last Bakmi before leaving Jakarta, it was awesome okay!? =p Wasting our in the cafe, busy playing games on my iPad, and, 3.30pm, it's boarding time!
Suddenly, 4.00pm, they announced flight delayed. And ended up we waited another 3 hours in the departure hall. And it was seriously boring. Like seriously boring!
Free food for delaying our flight.
At the end our departed at 8pm local time, arrived KL 11.15pm (M'sia time). And sent home by my sweet lovely girl.
One day, I'll definitely go back again.
About Jakarta,
1. Over 10 million population, and all 10 million friendly people.
2. You need to have a strong stomach to eat there, or else, pay more.
3. Bring at least US$300 to spend, and most of it are on transportation, thanks to the jam.
4. Only take those taxi with meter, company like Blue Bird and Express, appear in Blue & White color Toyota Vios. Other than that, forget bout it, unless you are filthy rich.
5. And they hardly can speak English.
